Te Tuhi Colour Wheels
We went to Te Tuhi and we learnt about the colour wheel. We learned that the primary colours are blue, red and yellow. We learnt that secondary colours are green, orange and purple. We learnt about tertiary colours too! We painted lime green, red orange and red purple too. Some of us thought it was tricky and some of us thought it was easy. When we made our colour wheel lady bugs the curvy cutting was really tricky. I'm going to practice my curvy cutting more.

I Am Learning About Compound Words
It’s hard to remember compound words. I find them a little bit hard. Sometimes I get them confused with word endings. I did find all of the compound words!

I Am Learning About Fractions
I know that half of six flowers is three flowers. I am not sure how to show half of a rectangle. I can’t remember what a fractions symbol looks like. I think fractions are a bit tricky. I am going to practice fractions more in class.
I Am Learning To Use The Word Folder
I like using the word folder. It helps me to spell words. I have circled the words in my weekend story that I found in the word folder. I am still getting used to which words I can find in the word folder.

I Am Learning To Draw A Cat
I used lots of squiggly lines and some straight lines. I like the curvy mountains the best. The dyeing was my favourite part. It was easy but the koru lines were tricky.

I Am Learning To Retell The Story In Sequence
I read a book called Oh, No! I drew a picture from the beginning of the book, then I wrote a sentence. Then I drew a picture from the middle of the book and I wrote a sentence for that picture. After that I drew a picture from the story ending and I wrote my last sentence. I always check the book to make sure I got it in the right order. I find it easy to retell the story!

I Am Learning To Use Capital Letters And Full Stops
Our learning intention:
We are learning to use capital letters and full stops in the right places.
Our success criteria: Our sentences start with a capital letter - We have used a capital letter for the word ‘I’ - We have used a capital letter for names - We have used full stops at the end of our sentences.
My reflection: I used a capital letter for the word I. My next learning steps are to use full stops at the end of my sentences. I find it tricky to remember capital letters.

I Am Learning To Draw Myself
First, I sketched myself in my art book, making sure I included all of my features. Then Mrs Millar enlarged my drawing to A3 on the photocopier and I outlined it using a black vivid marker. I coloured my portrait in using pastels. It was tricky to choose the right colours for my hair and eyes!
Welcome to Room 11!
This is me in Room 11. On our Hive of Learning wall display I am a bee. We talked about learning and I said: “Learning is like looking at the words and trying to work out the words. It’s like figuring it out.”
